It is very important to have an understanding of the wilderness areas you will be spending time in and the wildlife you may encounter while you’re there. It’s also interesting to learn about the trips and survival stories of others who venture off into remote backcountry. These are some great books and movies that we recommend for you. We will usually add a new book or movie at least once per month.
Adventure/ Survival/ Wildlife Stories:
Alone Across Alaska: 1,000 Miles of Wilderness:
This is a great movie. A solo trip from the Yukon/Alaska border through Alaska’s Brooks Range (northern Alaska) and all the way to the ocean. The film shows his encounters with bears, wolves, and many other animals. He takes a trip through some of the most remote country you can imagine. I would recommend this movie to any outdoor enthusiasts. Follow the link to purchase the movie and read about his other travels.
